Brass Moulding Inserts
These Press fit inserts are pressed into a component shortly after it has been molded. While the plastic is still warm and pliable, the insert is pushed into the part. When the plastic cools, the insert becomes fixed in place.
Brass is the most common insert material. It has excellent machining capabilities and does not require any post treatment. Both of which contribute to lower cost than other materials.
These inserts primarily have straight knurling although Diamond knurling is also used.
